Busy evening

miekec(Yes, it's been a while since last post. No, I have not been abducted by aliens)
- It's cooooold!
+ Well, at least it has warmed up from the -11° (12 F) of a day or so ago to a balmy -2° (28 F)
+/- Got through crowded rush hour.
+ Managed not to kill any of the idiots on the way.
+/- Walked as quickly as possible to Lawrence School.
- Got there only 5 minutes late to pick up K.
+ Vowed to leave work yet even earlier next time.
+ Got K in her snowsuit, snowboots, winter jacket and thick gloves in reasonable time
+ Walked home in less than half an hour
- on very icy sidewalks,
+ but managed not to slip. Having cool gadgets made all the difference. Highly recommended.
+ K had a blast, sliding around on the ice
- Sidewalk in front of our home had not completely de-iced, despite our good efforts yesterday.
- Couldn't get through fence/gate/door/whatchamacallit to backyard to get ice-melt. Too much snow/ice build-up on the other side of the it.
+ Cleared door-opening
+ Put out garbage, yard waste, plastic and paper recycling for early morning pickup.
+ Attacked sidewalk, managed to clear it all with shovel, no more salt needed. Makes garden happier.
- Got page that J still stuck at Labor&Delivery, and wouldn't get to escape at 6ish as hoped.
+ Fed cats, K, me.
+ Insulated window in 1F bathroom with plastic sheet, double-sided sticky tape and hairdryer. No more frozen but when using toilet in morning. Or at least less frozen.
- Got page that J still more stuck, and wouldn't make 2nd estimate of 21:30. Hopefully home at 22:45.
+ Put K to bed. Reassured her no monsters in the dark. Found woofie (favorite stuffed animal) on our bed, put in hers.
+/- Filled humidifiers. Need 3 now, running constantly to minimize static because of extremely low humidity
+ Cleaned up kitchen. Got nice hot drink and small bite of amandelstaaf. Enjoying.
