Spent most of the weekend with johngnassi and tardyt in Scuba (SSI) class. Fun, but exhausting. J and I really want to get as much of the certification out of the way, so that when we go to Jamaica next year (slightly delayed honeymoon), we'll only have to do 5 open water dives to get certified. Yay! And since we were going to class anyway, and since Alex is a waterrat anyway, and since he'll turn 13 in 3 days, he came with. Who wouldn't want a birthday present like that?
It was a blast!
Can't waitwaitwait to go diving in the nice, warm, clear, Jamaica ocean again.


Oh, and many thanks and kudos to terbear2b and lovelyblackrose for putting up with Karin for the weekend. I owe you a backrub for putting up with her, Terry!

Tonight before keeling, we did manage to move the big hutch, the most difficult piece of furniture from the front room into Alex' new room. It didn't fit around the curve as it was, and it didn't fit though the door on its side. Sigh. We ended up unscrewing it while on its side in the doorway. Figures. But - it's cleaned, moved, and put together. Phew. One step closer to doing that floor.

Anyway, little sleep, lots of muscle-soreness but great fun and good progress.

"Slightly delayed", huh? That's very kind of you, considering that we got married in 2001. :) After being under water with a tank again (first time in 15 years), even though it was just a pool this weekend, I really wish we could go right away to a nice warm place to do our checkout dives together. I really do love diving and regret not having followed up on it all these years. Jamaica sounds wonderful - if I let my imagination run for a bit, it feels like it's just around the corner. This morning I stepped outside and felt the near-freezing air across my cheek and our honeymoon can't come soon enough... and it's not even winter yet. (sigh)

Now the question is, will the crazy people from our class actually convince our instructor to set up check out dives in Massachusetts for this coming weekend?

yay!!! diving!!! even freezing cold zero visibility new england diving!!! i got recertified this summer to make sure my lungs won't explode if i dive on my course. and jamaica... mmm... that'll be *a*mazing.
