We did go on the Midnight Bike Ride last night/this morning. John has a short write-up:

I am glad that I went. For the past week or so, I had been vascillating, and especially with the chance of rain and thunderstorms, I wasn't all that sure about it. But it was fun. I love the atmosphere, meeting lots of interesting other people, talking, riding when the traffic is nice and light, and seeing and hearing about cool architecture. And surprised myself with not finding it too strenuous. Even the steep hills (%*#@!! Copps Hill terrace) I managed to ride up. Slowly, lowest gear, panting afterwards, but got there. The narrow, slippery passage on the locks across the Charles was just barely wide enough for the trailer, and even that went well. Despite all the (non) riders who got off and walked that bit. It felt pretty good to hear someone give me kudos for navigating that section!
Anyway, we had fun. Until the pouring rain persisted, John's knee got worse, and Karin wouldn't stop screaming. Shit happens. Better luck next time.
