Hack. Cough. Sniffle. Life sucks worse some days. Besides, we can all blame it on the weather this month. Feels more like fall than anything else - makes me want to have a big fireplace to curl up in front of. Hot cocoa and books and friends and kittens.
Instead, am locked up in dreadful work building, forced to do *gasp* work. I'm sick, extremely tired, cranky, and stressed. Contemplating the genetics that make a child of 2 stubborn parents stubborn-squared. And fuming at how impossible it is to try logic with a 2-yr-old. Also, still pissed off about housing f***-up for the weekend. Was hoping to have relaxed, nice weekend at the house. Now, we don't have a clue where we'll be staying; it won't be at the house, don't even know if we're going to be allowed *in* even, and with our luck it'll prob be on the other side of campus. Doesn't work with 2 kids :(
Grmble. Whine. Blech.

Hm, feel at least some better for getting the whining out of my system :)
Feel free to ignore my rantings - they're not directed at you. Just triggered by general misery...

In a more informative trend, it's Brown Commencement weekend again, and we're off to Providence, RI for a long weekend of band, graduation hordes, John's fraternity, lots of fun and good people to hang out with, contemplative discussions (I love smart people!), crazy boardgames/cardgames/etc, and no doubt 2 kids running on hyper and sugar and feeding (and feedbacking) of other kids' energies.
Usually one of the wonderfuller parts of this is staying at King House. First and foremost because of the wonderful crowd there, but second and certainly not least because of the convenience. It's across the street from the Band headquarters, so going back and forth from band practice is a breeze, and we can usually just roll out of bed to be there in time. There are always people at the house, and combined cooking efforts work great (breakfast, take-out, trooping off in different groupings to different food places). Plus, there's a large common living area, ideal for entertaining anyone and everyone, from kids to old fogies, any time of day and night.
Hoping that there'll be a-plenty of wireless access aaaaaall over campus, and hoping for at least slightly more spare time (hah!) this weekend than usual, I'm attempting to keep this updated for those poor souls who can't be there...
