Cat update

miekecSo far so good! Weasley has been declared "well for now". I took him to Angell Memorial for a follow-up Saturday, and after some prodding and poking (actually, the doc was really nice) she said he was not constipated anymore. Considering that he's been snarfing his new low residue food, and has gained half a pound back, he has probably been able to pass stuff out.
Phew.
Yes, he'll have to have another checkup in a month, and yes, he'll have to eat the special food only for a while, and we have to keep giving him the lactulose 3 times a day. The idea is to measure stool output and adjust lactulose input accordingly. I laughed when she mentioned that. We can't quite give it to him when we're at work, and with 2 cats, shared litterboxes and outside access, it's just impossible to measure anything. At least she was realistic enough to see the problems, and said to just do the best we can. And wait.
For now, he looks much, much better, and is running around happily again.
