So Weasley is still alive, and more or less ok. We spent a few days being really worried; about what he had, how bad, and at what point we would actually have to consider euthanizing him. So, being able to say he's alive was an improvement. The constricted colon is unfortunately inoperable. Unless you consider sawing through his pelvis to get to the site a viable solution.
They did manage to get a catheter in, and, like with angioplasty, used a balloon to widen the opening of the tube. That seemed to help some. The flushed him out (yes, all this under general anesthesia. Can you imagine any cat holding still for this?) and threw some draino in. Well, maybe not the draino.
For now, he's on "low residue" food only, an antibiotic and a laxative. Surprisingly, he's taking these meds relatively willingly. Probably only because he gets a bit of milk afterwards :)
Saturday he has to go back to the surgeon, to make sure he's actually processing the food, and not just clogging it up again. For now, he's tons and tons happier; runs around, climbs trees, chases our other cat, and actually is developing more muscle again. He'd lost a pound in 2 weeks (which is bad, considering this was going from 7 to 6 pounds!) and started to look skinny and sick.
