Cat updates

Tijgetje, our cat, got washed yesterday :) Really. In the tub. No (physical) injuries to human or beast. She doesn't clean herself particularly well, so when she stinks too much, she gets a bath. And for some reason she doesn't mind too much; she purred while we put her in the water, and only stopped purring when we started pouring a small bucket onto her. We discovered there is a lot of cat surface to wash (well, she *is* 16 pounds, still) and it takes 3 big towels to dry her with by now. Her only panic and escape-attempts happened when we used a hairdryer to dry her more.

In the meantime, our other cat, Yoda, is still missing. It has been over a month now, so we sadly have to conclude we'll probably never find out what happened to him. He was a really sweet cat, and we all miss him. Tijgetje keeps looking for him, and she has become much more cuddly and attention-seeking since he disappeared. I guess it is the chance you take when having indoor/outdoor cats. But I could never have kept him inside. He loved going outside; he was very much a hunter, and would roam all the backyards around us, climbing the fences as if they were built just for him.

Tijgetje needs a new playmate, so we're looking to get a new kitten. Hopefully we'll find one just around Thanksgiving, so we can be there for 4 days to help him/her adjust. Anybody know any kittens that will be around 8 weeks by then?
