Finally, after a few false starts, it seems to be spring. It's not freezing anymore (well, at least during the days), and our garden has tons of very brave green thingies sprouting. I think it's crocusses, narcissusses (?!), hyacinths and tulips. At least, that's what we had last year. Let's hope this time there won't be yet another pile o'snow. That would suck. But then again, this is Boston, so you never know.
And much yay and gleee, because I finally, finally got to ride into work again. SO missed that. Haven't been able to do that like forever. Or at least since November. Too cold for Karin to sit still for half an hour in the trailer (let alone in the uncovered child-carrier). And then with the snow it was too dangerous because the roads were so much narrower. But at last almost all the snow has melted, and the sun was out and it's a Friday, so I don't have to take Karin. My bike very well-behaved; it just had a thorough checkup, or "Spring-special", as they called it. There were just too many things that needed attention, and we just do not have the time anymore. Sad, but true.
But I digress. Riding was very refreshing and invigorating, and much faster than public transport. Besides, I like being independent of the whims of the like of the MBTA. [too many "of the"'s in there. Feels wrong. Then again, this doesn't have to win a writers prize]
A nice, smooth, otherwise uneventful ride. Other bicyclists had come out of the woodwork too, and life felt good.
