There and back again
Aug. 10th, 2008 10:44 pmThis year's midnight bike ride was awesome; good karma for an anniversary-ride (20th year). The weather was nice, and most importantly DRY, not too hot - only slightly cool. The crowd was big; an estimate I heard mentioned was 200+ people, but it's hard to tell when they're all over the place. We rode along many pretty streets, houses, roads, parks, crazy things. Got to within a few blocks of home, rode a stretch of my regular commute, discovered all sorts of nice new places. We did bail this time, unfortunately, after one wipe-out and a sore knee. Rode home from the Zakim bridge, most of the way along the esplanade. Beautiful, so quiet at night, and our wonderful city all lit up around us. I was somewhat dead by the time we got home, unpacked, everything tossed into the bikeshed, and a nice hot shower.

I posted a pile of pictures on my picasa pictures page. Haven't quite pruned the too-blurry ones yet, figured someone may want them as proof of OMG riding up on the Zakim bridge! That was SO excellent. More later, after more sleep has happened.
