Guinea pigs and cows and pannenkoeken, oh my!

Very brief update, seeing as it's past midnight here. Went to petting zoo today; the only reasons Karin was willing to leave were her cold toes and my statement that she was absolutely not going to have yet another guinea pig to pet.
Dinner was Pannenkoeken (english-language link is very minimal, alas) at my friend and her 8-yr old daughter. Needless to say that both dinner and friend to play with were very popular with Karin.

I first encountered pannenkoeken in Lubec (Holstein, not Maine); I hadn't happened to see them when visiting the Netherlands.

She loves critters and any form and shape. At the moment, I think the guinea pigs are on the top of her list.

In this particular shape and thickness, they are a traditional Dutch food. About the size of a regular-size plate, and in thickness somewhere between the American pancakes and the French crepes. Very yummy with bacon and/or cheese bakes in, and a thick apple-syrup on top. I realized I had never made them for dinner in Boston. Completely don't know why, but it's absolutely fixable :)
