Those are the sounds of my body complaining about the weekend... I spent a large part of Saturday dealing with the backyard of M&T, raking leaves (a lot of them!) and chasing a tree-climbing little girl. This on an already partially sore body from lots of fun and good.. uhm.. "play".. the afternoon/evening before ;)
Then on Sunday, it was yet more leaves-removal time. From our gutters in this case. Since J was stuck in the hospital with too many patients, I ended up doing all of it by myself. Hauling the big, heavy ladder around, moving it every 3 meters or so, to get to the next section of gutter. And of course, the least favorite section, the 24' high flat roof to climb onto, to clear the Gutter From Hell. Well, I guess technically the gutter isn't the "hell" part, getting there is. But still. Going up isn't the worst part, and once I'm up there, I enjoy the view and the thrill of being up high. But getting back onto that ladder.... those horrifying few moments where you have to crawl backwards, prodding around with your foot in empty space, looking for a toehold on the first rung. Always reminds me of Donkey saying "Shrek, I'm looking dooown!"
