Commencement - Friday

Back from Campus dance. This year also called Campus Swim. It had looked very promising, despite the weather forecasts, but as soon as we were all dressed up and ready to go, it started pouring. Buckets. And then some. The obvious do-we-go-or-do-we-not ensued, the vacillating directly proportional to the larger number of people talking (5) In the end, we decided to go. So, armed with umbrellas, and, in Karin's case with a bright yellow rain jacket, we went to the entrance. Luckily, it wasn't very cold. Wet, but medium cold - tolerable for a short while with a spagetti-strap fancy dress with no protection for The Elements (tm). Oh well. I decided to just ignore the cold and wet and nasty, and have fun anyway. And to just go back when I got too uncomfortable. That actually worked wuite well.
Since I was still feeling sick as hell, and it was already way past K's bedtime, I actually managed to convince the ticket-sellers to let us in for 10-15 minutes. That was very nice. John and Alex got proper tickets, so it wasn't like we were trying to rip them off...
There were actually a surprising number of people out there, even though the rain didn't let up till way past 11. The bands were playing, and the big stage full of brass instruments definitely caught K's attention. We walked around some, got soaking wet, and found some fellow Kappas under a greek-pillared shelter. I didn't last long though; after talking for a few minutes, K and I headed back to our dorm - where it was nice and dry...
